A sheepish smile recaptured his vacant face as he bolted the entire glass to please her. Then he caught his breath and looked at her for some tangible sign of approval. |

Harvey hesitated, then nodded his head. He twirled the empty glass between the palms of his pudgy hands. "Sure . . . sure I have," he lied, " . . . lots of 'em." |

Cappy leaned her head back and laughed, pausing just long enough to finish off a good part of her own drink. She was still laughing when she felt him stiffen and stand up. |
